Nick Slaney
Bitcoin & Lightning Network Expert
Nick is a Bitcoiner (class of 2013) based out of New Hampshire interested in Bitcoin, the lightning network, and the tools to use Bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
Previously, Nick built c= at Block, a group dedicated to making Bitcoin payments a reality. c='s LDK node still stands as a top 10 lightning node by capacity on the network and likely had the highest volume of any node in 2024. c= was a major player in defining the LSP spec that is still in use today.
Before c=, Nick helped bring bitkey from concept to its first production prototype as one of the first members of the team, primarily responsible for its mechanical design as well as being one of the more vocal resident Bitcoiners. Before that, Nick worked as a product design engineer shipping multiple consumer products.
Beyond technical Bitcoin work, Nick is interested in the intersection of Bitcoin and policy. In 2022, Nick served on the NH Governor's Commission on Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets
